(German version below) After the demise of The Very End’s first label Dockyard1, who originally released their debut „Vs. Life“ in 2008, the band regained all publishing rights. While the DIY-scene is already quite vivid overseas, The Very End give it a shot and release „Vs. Life“ on their own as a limited vinyl edition.
The rules of the music industry are constantly changing fundamentally“, says René Bogdanski, guitar player and founding member of The Very End. „Especially in terms of self-publishing and overall DIY aspects the digitalisation spawns many interesting new possibilities. We just want to see what can be done here and now without any help from a label. Still being signed to Steamhammer/SPV we can operate with a convenient setting.”
Warm-up for the new album
„Our last album ‘Turn Off The World’ is already six years old“, says singer Björn Goosses. „So a sign of life is way overdue. The vinyl-release of ‘Vs. Life’ is the perfect warm-up for the new album.“ The Very End are currently working on their fourth studio-album. Goosses: „With our newest member Jerome Reil – son of legendary Kreator-drummer Jürgen ‘Ventor’ Reil – we’re at the top of our game.“ The album production is scheduled for the second half of 2018.
The Very End release their debut album „Vs. Life“ as a limited vinyl edition
A limited, hand-numbered 180g vinyl edition will be available as of May 10th. Dan Swanö (Unisound Studio) did a special full dynamic range for the vinyl version, which also offers a yet-unreleased bonus-track called „The Black To Come“. Additionally, each LP includes an individual download code, which allows everybody who purchased the vinyl version to get a high-quality digital version, too.

Der Vinyl-Release ist ein DIY-Experiment
The Very Ends Debut-Album „Vs. Life“ wird 10 Jahre. Wie ließe sich das besser feiern, als mit einem Vinyl-Release? Am 10. Mai 2018 erscheint das Album als limitierte, handnummerierte 180 Gramm Vinyl-Edition – ein Self-Publishing-Experiment.
Die Aufnahme wurde von Dan Swanö (Unisound Studio) für die Vinylpressung neu gemastert. Zudem enthält sie mit „The Black To Come” einen bisher unveröffentlichten Bonustrack. Jeder LP liegt ein persönlicher Downloadcode bei, mit dessen Hilfe jedem Käufer der physischen Platte das gesamte Album auch digital zur Verfügung gestellt wird.
The Very End bringen Debüt-Album „Vs. Life“ als limitierte Vinyl-Edition selbst auf den Markt
Nach dem Niedergang ihres ersten Labels Dockyard1, über das „Vs. Life“ 2008 ursprünglich veröffentlicht wurde, hat die Band alle Rechte an dem Material wiedererlangt. „Die Spielregeln der Musikindustrie ändern sich seit Jahren fundamental“, erklärt Gitarrist und Bandgründer René Bogdanski. „Im Zuge der Digitalisierung entstehen besonders im Selfpublishing- bzw. DIY-Bereich dadurch völlig neue Möglichkeiten.“ DIY steht für Do-It-Yourself und hat in Amerika bereits eine sehr aktive Künstler-Szene. Davon inspiriert wagen The Very End nun den Versuch, die Vinyl-Edition in Eigenregie zu veröffentlichen. „Wir wollen einfach mal sehen, was hier und heute ohne Label möglich ist. Durch unseren aktuellen Plattenvertrag bei Steamhammer/SPV agieren wir dabei natürlich unter komfortablen Rahmenbedingungen“, so Bogdanski.
Warm-Up zum neuen Album
„Unser letztes Album ‚Turn Off The World‘ hat inzwischen sechs Jahre auf dem Buckel“, sagt Sänger Björn Goosses. „Ein aktuelles Lebenszeichen war deshalb längst überfällig. Der Vinyl-Release ist damit das perfekte Warm-Up zum neuen Album.“ The Very End arbeiten zur Zeit an ihrem vierten Studio-Album. Goosses: „Mit unserem jüngsten Neuzugang Jerome Reil, dem Sohn des legendären Kreator-Drummers Jürgen „Ventor“ Reil, sind wir wieder in Bestform.“ In der zweiten Jahreshälfte soll es ins Studio gehen.
